Best Beaches for Dogs

For many of us, dogs are family members and what would a summer vacation be without your furry friend along for the fun? Luckily, there are plenty of spots that welcome dogs of all types to enjoy the sandy beaches of New Jersey. No matter where you want to go in New Jersey, there’s a dog park close by.

Asbury Park Dog Beach
One of the best places to bring your dog for some beach time is the Asbury Park Dog Beach. During the summer seasons, dogs are only allowed on the beach between 6 PM and 8:30 AM. In the off season dogs are welcome at all times of the day, even up on the boardwalk! There’s no fee or special license required for dogs to use the park which makes it a great destination for any dog-loving family. For more information, look at the Asbury Park website.

Wildwood Dog Beach
Family fun in Wildwood includes two-legged and four-legged family members at the Wildwood Dog Beach! Open year-round, this beach is dedicated to dogs and their owners. The best part about it is the beach is open to dogs all day, letting families play in the sand or swim with their dog at any time.

Brigantine North Beach
Part natural beach, part public space, Brigantine North Beach is a beautiful spot to see a wild beach and let your canine run in the sand. Although there are restrictions on the preserved part of the beach, dogs are welcome to the public beach year round, as long as they are on a leash.

Stone Harbor
Stone Harbor welcomes dogs after hours during the peak season and at all times during the off season. It’s a great area to introduce a dog to the beach and enjoy some quality time with your dog!

Somers Point Dog Park
Also going by the names of Malibu Beach or Longport, this dog is right near Ocean City, NJ. The park allows dogs year round as long as they are leashed. It’s a popular place for dog-owners since there is free parking and dogs are welcome even in the summer.
