We aren’t quite finished with Thanksgiving yet, but many people are already concerned with the next day before they’ve even put the dinner leftovers in the freezer. Yes, Black Friday is almost upon us, which means huge discounts, line-ups and stampedes, and little (if any) sleep. If you’re looking to get your holiday shopping done early and take advantage of the lowest prices of the year, here are some Jersey shore malls where you can score some sweet deals.
Washington Street Mall
This Cape May outdoor mall isn’t for everyone on Black Friday, since it might be pretty cold in the early morning. If you can brave the chill, though, you’ll have a better shot at bargains on art, books, home goods, jewelry, apparel, and toys than the weak-willed shoppers who opt for heated indoor malls. Visit Casale’s for shoes, Galvanic for Men’s apparel, Import Bazaar for vintage decorations, the Toy Shop of Cape May for the little ones, the famous Dellas 5 & 10 for year-round bargains, Henry’s Jewelers for that special someone, and Christmas Plus for holiday-themed gifts. If you didn’t have room for dessert at Thanksgiving dinner, stop by Morrow’s Nut House or The Original Fudge Kitchen for a tasty treat!
The Quarter at Tropicana
This three-story Havana-themed mall in Atlantic City has more than 30 stores, 9 restaurants, 11 nightclubs, and a spa! It might be designed for a night out rather than gift shopping, but you can hit AKA for Men’s clothing, Erwin Pearl for jewelry, LICK for sugary treats, Marshall Rousso for trendy clothing to fit all occasions, Talk of the Walk for family-owned fashion, and Starbucks for the morning pick-me-up all Black Friday shoppers will probably need.
Hamilton Mall
This Mays Landing Mall is conveniently located on Black Horse Pike off of Exit 12 on the Atlantic City Expressway, so you can easily stop here on the way to other shopping destinations like Atlantic City, Cape May, and Wildwood. With more than 140 stores and restaurants, this is the biggest indoor mall in both Cape May and Atlantic counties. If you still have room after Thanksgiving dinner, stop by the international food court. If you bring the kids along, have them play at the indoor park and ride the Deep Sea Carousel while you shop for their presents. Visit Bath & Body Works for gift sets of skin care products, Game Stop for the newest games, Hot Topic for pop culture merchandise, and H&M for cutting-edge women’s fashion.
Cherry Hill Mall
Opened in 1961, this is the first indoor shopping center with temperature control in the Eastern U.S. It has since grown to more than 160 stores and services, so you’re sure to find everything on your list here. Visit Build-a-Bear Workshop and surprise your kids with a custom-made stuffed animal, the Disney Store for toys and trinkets featuring both classic and new characters from Disney, lululemon for your yoga-loving friends, LUSH for your environmentally conscious friends, Teavana for your coffee-hating friends, and The Container Store to buy something that will hold all of the awesome stuff you just bought.
Westfield Garden State Plaza
The largest in the state, this Paramus mall is located in the same town as The Outlets at Bergen Town Center, Fashion Center, and Paramus Park, so it’s great to come here and try to kill many birds with one stone. With more than 300 stores, even New Yorkers come here to shop (and pay lower sales taxes. The mall features North America’s shortest escalator with six steps leading from the bottom floor of J.C. Penney to the mall’s lower level. If you’re tired out from a long morning of shopping, sit back, relax, and enjoy a film in the attached AMC movie theater. Hit BestBuy for insane deals on electronics, Fashionable Pets so that you don’t leave out the tinier members of your family, Gucci for your friends with expensive tastes, and Tiffany’s for family members with REALLY expensive tastes.
There are plenty of Jersey shore malls to shop at this holiday season. Are you going out this Black Friday? Tell us in the comments!
