Lucy the Elephant – Margate, New Jersey
Nothing like a giant elephant on the beach to create a little buzz. Lucy has been a resident at the shore since 1881. Over the years she has served many functions from hotel to a bar. Now the 65 foot elephant is a museum. A quick trip to Lucy and you will learn all about her history and you also learn some New Jersey shore history. Ocean City Historical Museum – Ocean City, New Jersey
If you want to learn some of the history of the shore this museum has you covered. It shows the history of the boardwalk. It also covers local history of the town and surrounding area. The museum if open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with extended hours until 7 p.m. on Thursday.

Somers Point Historical Society – Somers Point, New Jersey
For a small museum this place has a lot of local history. They have more than 4,000 vintage photos from the Somers Point area. The museum also has artifacts dating back 100s of years.

NASW Aviation Museum – Cape May, New Jersey
The Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum is a non-profit museum located inside historic hanger #1 of the Cape May Airport. The museum is home to a number of aircrafts, engines, special exhibits ad educational interactive displays. Visitors are invited to explore aviation and  New Jersey through “hands-on” fun and educational activities for the whole family. The museum is open Mon through Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
