Pet Friendly Lodging and Businesses at the New Jersey Shore
Pet Friendly Lodging and Businesses at the Jersey Shore
For some, a family vacation isn’t a family vacation unless every member of their household comes along – including the furry, four-legged members. Happily, when your chosen vacation spot is the Jersey Shore, there are many businesses and lodging options that allow you to bring your pet along.
The first thing you need when vacationing is a place to stay. There are dozens of hotels and cottages in the Jersey Shore that are pet friendly. No matter your budget or the type of lodging you are looking for, you will be able to find a place that is Fido friendly. Below are just a few of the many options.
Billmae Cottage Guests Suites – Cape May
When looking at the photos of these suites, it almost seems as though it was created for the dogs, but they allow the humans to come along. This cottage was built in the 1800’s, but has been updated to include modern amenities. The rooms are decorated nicely, and some feature doggy décor. There is no additional fee for the first dog, but an extra fee is required for additional pets. This lodging option features a fenced in yard for the dogs to romp and play.

Highland House – Cape May
Pets are welcome in every room of this lovely 1850’s inn. You will feel like you stepped back in time, but will still have access to modern conveniences.
Surf 16 Motel – North Wildwood
While one of the reasons that you likely chose the Jersey Shore as a vacation spot was for the beach access, it is always a bonus when your motel has a pool. In this case, there is a heated pool. The motel also has a grilling area for guests. Unlike some other motels, Surf 16 allows guests to leave well-behaved dogs alone in the room while they go out. There is a fenced in dog run for the convenience of guests with pets.
Ocean City Mansion & Bed and Breakfast – Ocean City
This charming mansion, now divided into several guest rooms, was built in 1896. It offers a special extra service for those who bring their pets along: dog sitting. For only $5 per hour, you can go to the beach or out for dinner and know that your furry friend is being looked after by a fellow dog lover.
