Atlantic City Nightlife
Action at the Jersey shore doesn’t end once the beaches clear out and the sun goes down. You’re going to need some after-dinner activities to unwind after a hard day in the surf.
Even if you’re not staying in Atlantic City or Wildwood, your resort down the shore will surely offer some type of nightlife. Most weekend nights, you can find a live band or DJ playing at the local bars. But for the hottest action, head for Wildwood and Atlantic City.
Looking for a club scene with dance music? Here’s Atlantic City’s finest offerings.
Casbah — at the Trump Taj Mahal
Possibly the best known club in Atlantic City. Ladies are always free. If you don’t care to dance, you can always watch the official Casbah dancers in their cages and on their platforms.
Club Tru — on Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard
Don’t stop dancing! The music goes all night Saturday night and doesn’t stop until eleven on Sunday morning.
Déjà vu — just off the Boardwalk
Looking for a sultry atmosphere? Sexy lighting? Babes delivering shots? You’ve found it. Dress is upscale; music is hip-hop and house.
The Missile Bar — at the Tropicana
Caliente! This is the only place in the Tropicana’s Quarter where you can dance. The Missile that gives the bar its name DOES actually go through a launch sequence.
Mixx — at the Borgata
A great club for people watching. Stake out a second floor couch and watch the dancers below. Music ranges from latin and reggae to hip-hop and house.
The Wave — at Trump Marina
Not a fan of the thumping beats? Check out great live music at The Wave. Tends to attract a thirty-and-up crowd; no glowsticks here.
Worship (House of Blues) — at the Showboat
The new kid in town, with the same funky atmosphere the House of Blues has. From the second and (private) third floor, you can check out the dancers on the ground.
For something a little less active, Atlantic City has lots to offer.
Hit The Quarter at the Tropicana for the total experience — food, shopping, a spa, clubs, and bars. If you’re a karaoke queen, hit Planet Rose, Atlantic City’s one and only karaoke bar! Don’t miss the Comedy Stop for a few laughs. Dress in the quarter is upscale; the Tropicana recently had to issue a list of clothing that was not considered appropriate.
Some of the city’s best bars can be found in the Quarter: TSOP — The Sound of Philadelphia, a jazz bar. Red Square — offering over a hundred types of vodka. And of course, Planet Rose with its unpredictable musical selections (and talent levels).
Love martinis? You’ll love the Blue Martini at Bally’s. The hardest part will be deciding which of more than a hundred martinis to sample first. Just off the main casino floor. Sip and soak up live entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights.
Atlantic City after dark may well be more fun than Atlantic City by day!
