The town is one of the most affluent communities along the Jersey Shore and is home to some of the most expensive real estate on the east coast. In Avalon, life is cooler by a mile. The town’s beaches actually stretch one mile farther into the Atlantic Ocean than other surrounding shore resorts. Avalon is more laid back in atmosphere — not as much nightlife, not as many people crowding the beaches. The town offers lots of fun, free family activities and great shopping.
