Top 10 Ocean City Attractions

- The Beach
Eight miles of beach, to be exact. Badges are required here, and must be worn between Memorial Day and Labor Day. But you also get access to bath houses, changing facilities, and plenty of restrooms. Feel free to buy your badges in advance; they go on sale for the year in March.
- The Boardwalk
Two and a half miles of everything you want in a boardwalk. Arcades, games of chance, rides, souvenir shops, and delicious boardwalk foods. Gillian’s Wonderland Pier offers rides, miniature golf, and a water park. Stop by Shriver’s for fudge and salt water taffy — they’ve been selling sweets since the days of Queen Victoria! And if popcorn is your pleasure, visit Johnson’s Popcorn for a bucket of caramel corn. They have three locations on the boardwalk so you can always find your popcorn fix. Since there isn’t much of a nightlife (no bars, no clubs, no alcohol!) in town, the Boardwalk is the place to be in the evening.
- Li’l Buc’s Bay.
This water park on the Boardwalk (inside Gillian’s Wonderland Pier) is for kids ONLY! Adults are only allowed in IF they are accompanied by a child.
- The Music Pier
On the boardwalk, but an attraction all its own! Home to concerts, art shows, craft fairs, musicals, and much more. While you’re in town, make a date to hear the Ocean City Pops Orchestra play at the Music Pier.
- The Ocean City Historical Museum
Learn about the 1901 wreck of the British cargo ship called the Sindia. This boat, carrying a fortune in goods, went off course and crashed on the beach near 16th Street. The remains of the boat have since gone underwater, but you can learn all about what happened at the museum. The museum also details the town’s history from the Victorian era to the present day. And be sure to learn about Hobo, the dog whose statue sits out front. It’s the only monument to an animal in the entire state of New Jersey!
- The Tabernacle and Grounds
Believe it or not, the cedar tree at the southwest corner of the Tabernacle Grounds is where the town founders originally dedicated themselves to establishing the resort! The Grounds host a farmers market every Wednesday, and the Tabernacle itself holds a thousand people for concerts and shows.
- The Ocean City Arts Center
Add a little culture to your vacation! Take an afternoon to browse through the ever-changing exhibits, or sign up for an art class. The Ocean City Arts Center also offers lectures and concerts.
- Goofy Family Activities and Festivals
From the Doo-Dah Parade celebrating the end of tax season to Wacky Contest Week in August, you’ll find lots of ways to have fun being silly in Ocean City! Taffy sculpting, freckle counting, dog parades, sand sculpting, hermit crab beauty contests, and much more! Ocean City actually prides itself on offering more family events than any other shore resort town!
- The Miss New Jersey Pageant
Every June, hopeful young ladies from all over the state compete to see who will represent New Jersey in the Miss America pageant.
- The Family Atmosphere Thanks in large part to the town’s religious origins, Ocean City is a perfectly family-friendly place to visit. No alcohol, no bars, no wild nightclubs, just good, clean family fun.
